CELEBRATING ART AND CREATIVITY

Muttaburra Sculpture Festival celebrate art and sculpture events, where history and creativity meet.

Our premiere event - the Sculpture Festival and Competition – is held every 5 years over a long weekend in late July. The centre of this competition is where large outdoor recycled/reused sculptures are interpreted through the history of our region.

In the years between, we stay busy, bringing annual art events that show fabulous works from artists of all levels across different creative fields. We organise workshops and demonstrations that encourage people to explore their creativity and learn new skills.

Our festival, competition and activities are unique experiences and a lot of fun, that simply celebrate the ingenuity of the outback.

TREATMENTS

FESTIVAL SCULPTURE COMPETITION

The Muttaburra outdoor recycle/reuse sculpture competition is your chance to display your creativity and passion for sculpture. Entries focus on interpreting stories, history, events, or aspects of the Muttaburra region from First Nations through to the present day.  This event gives you the chance to compete for an exciting prize pool and be part of a community of talented artists where works will contribute to building an outdoor sculpture history track.

CREATIVE WORKSHOP

Our workshops are filled with creativity that will inspire and ignite your passion for art. Our experienced instructors will guide you through a variety of techniques and mediums, allowing you to explore and develop new skills. We connect with like-minded individuals and take your artistic abilities to the next level.

POP-UP EVENTS

In between our big festival years, we do pop up events - art galleries, photo exhibitions, and art competitions. Keep on eye on current events, on our EVENTS page.

BUILDING A VISUAL HISTORY THROUGH SCULPTURE

The festival inspiration is to create ‘a walk that will talk to the past’ – a visual memory of the region’s history via large outdoor reuse/recycle sculptures. These works will stand along a 4km+ walk/slow drive track around the edge of town, bringing to life stories from the history of Muttaburra and the Queensland Central West.
